Triathlete Open Water Training Bussloo: 16th & 17th of May 2026

Requirements for Participation

To ensure a safe and effective training day, participants should meet the following criteria:

  • You can comfortably swim at least 250 metres without difficulty

  • You have mastered basic breathing techniques

  • Water temperatures in May can range from 13–18°C, so a wetsuit is required.

You should have previous experience swimming in cold water before the 16th of May to avoid becoming too cold during the session.

Ready to level up your triathlon swim?

If you’re a triathlete with some open-water experience and you’re looking for expert tips to feel more confident and fully prepared on race day, you’re in the right place!

Join us for a focused 2-half a day training session at Lake Bussloo, Apeldoorn, where we’ll sharpen the essential open-water skills every triathlete needs.

During this practical and dynamic training, you’ll learn:

  • How to swim straight and maintain direction
  • Three effective navigation techniques
  • Smart and efficient overtaking strategies
  • How to handle mass starts with confidence
  • Smooth and controlled buoy turns

Whether you want to race faster, feel calmer in the water, or simply swim more efficiently, this session will help you take the next step.

Date and Time: 16th and 17th of May

  • 16th of May from 13:00h – 16:00h
  • 17th of May from 09:30h – 12:30h

Costs:

  • € 250,- for the whole weekend
  • € 195,- for one of the 2 days

Including:

  • hot drinks before and after the training sessions
  • snacks
